Iowa College Access Network has a lot of information for being a successful student now and preparing for college. They have information on financial aid and scholarships as well. One of their wonderful programs is FAFSA Ready Iowa . This program, which runs from October 1st through March 30th, is hosted at different locations across the state. At these events, ICAN will help you fill out the FAFSA form, just be sure to bring the required materials! I Have A Plan Iowa is a great resource for learning about careers, colleges, scholarships, and how they compare to your interests. It is also the website the state uses for 8th-12th graders to create and update a 4 year plan outlining the classes they want to take in high school.
Transfer in Iowa is a way to see if or how the classes you are taking at a community college will transfer in to Iowa State University, University of Northern Iowa, and/or the University of Iowa. While this website is a good starting place, it is always best to talk to the university you will be attending and the community college at which you have taken the classes. They will be able to give you the most definitive answer to your questions.
The Regent Admission Index is a calculation to see if you qualify for admission into the University of Iowa, University of Northern Iowa, or Iowa State University. The minimum score needed for automatic admission is 245. Factors include ACT or SAT score, high school GPA, and the number of core courses taken in high school (core courses are math, science, social studies, english, and foreign language).
