Meet the Teacher
My name is Alison Newman and this is my 19th year at Byron High School. I received my bachelor's in Agriculture Education, a minor in Animal Science at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. I have since received my master's in Counseling Studies at Winona State University. Since in Byron, I have taken on many tasks including Coach (basketball and softball), Committee member (Advisory, Calendar, Site, TMM, plus many more), Greenhouse manager, and Byron Education Association co-president. I truly enjoy my job as both a high school teacher and an FFA advisor. I have been certified in multiple CASE (Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education) classes and try to participate in multiple continuing education events a year.
Outside of school, I enjoy any moment I can spend with my family and my friends. I love to spend time with my dog, hiking, sitting by a fire, attending/watching the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings games, reading a good book, or relaxing at a movie. I also love to travel and do so whenever humanly possible.
