I am excited about teaching at Manhattan Middle School during the 2024-2025 school year!  During this year, I will teach Spanish Levels 1 and 2 and 8th Grade Language Arts. I am looking forward to some positive relationships, classroom fun and lots of growth. 

I grew up in California and attended the University of Oregon. I lived in Guadalajara, Mexico for 12 years. In Mexico, I worked at the American School and taught a variety of subjects, ate delicious foods, went to the beach a lot and made great friends! (And, of course, I really learned Spanish.)

I have taught a variety of subjects over the years, but I love teaching Spanish because it teaches us lessons in persistence, diversity, and humility and brings us closer to other humans. I am thrilled to return to the LA content area because I have missed the authentic discussions and critical thinking required to communicate and study literature. Communicating well is a passion of mine.

When I am not teaching, I love to mountain bike, practice yoga and meditation, cross country ski and spend time with my daughter and our friends. People are the most important part of life!
