Hello! I am Karen Keeler Hannahoe and I am so thrilled to be starting my 23rd year at Platt Middle School. Born the youngest of three children, I was raised outside of Philadelphia where I learned to work hard and play hard! Throughout my life I have kept a balance of academics, music and athletics. I began playing the flute in 4th grade and sang in all my school choirs. I enjoyed competitive swimming, lacrosse and field hockey in grade school. Upon graduating high school, I attended James Madison University in Virginia where I got my degree in Music Education. As soon as I graduated I packed the car and headed west with my now-husband, Jason Hannahoe. The lure of the mountains drew us to Colorado. In the twenty plus years of Colorado life, I got my Masters Degree at CU, attained National Board Certification in music education, took up the mandolin, completed an Ironman, climbed many mountains and welcomed two children (Henry, age 9 and Willa Jean, age 6) into the world. When gifted an hour to myself you can find me on the trails, noodling on the mandolin, reading or cheering on my Philadelphia sports teams!
