Active Voice

Active writing separates high school writers from each other and serves as one of the biggest hurdles young writers need to overcome.  Writers must keep this thought in mind:  "What does my subject do?"

Think of the game we played, "Let's Make an Active Sentence."   You learned to take a subject and add an active verb.   After our first lesson, go a little further and take a quiz.  Think about constructing sentences with "actors and action" or "subjects doing something."
