A little background on Ms. D -
I am a product of Boulder Valley School District - I attended Bear Creek Elementary, Southern Hills Junior High and Fairview High School. I then attended the University of Washington in Seattle where I played soccer and lacrosse and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. I was also active in ASUW - the student government organization on campus. In addition, I had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Seville in Spain and travel extensively around Spain,Portugal and Europe. Spain is one of my favorite places that holds very special memories for me!
I have a Bachelors degree in Spanish and a Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Washington in Seattle.
I have a certificate of Spanish Studies from the University of Seville from Seville, Spain.
I have a Masters degree in Physical Education:Sport Administration from the University of Northern Colorado.
I have 20+ years of teaching and coaching experience. I have taught Spanish 1A, 1B, 1,2,3,4,5 and AP as well as 8th and 10th Health, PE, World Geography, Study Skills, Food Fun, Typing and Connect. I have coached Boys and Girls Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Flag Football, and Track.
I am a full time single mom. I have two fabulous boys (Dillon and Michael) and a wonderful lab (Summer). My oldest son, Dillon, graduated from CU's Leeds School of Business in May 2025 and is off to teach English in Madrid, Spain for a year. My youngest, Michael, is a Division 1 Lacrosse player at the University of Delaware in his sophomore year studying Business. I love sports - especially tennis, platform tennis, volleyball, pickleball, soccer, water skiing, etc., etc.!! I still am a competitive tennis and volleyball player - my sports help keep me balanced and give me a wonderful outlet for my competitive spirit! I love to be active and outside! I love college football (Go Huskies), the Seattle Sounders, US Women's National Soccer team, the Denver Broncos and all the tennis majors - US Open, Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon!
I have four pillars that I live and teach by: Honest, Integrity, Personal Responsibility, and Respect.
BVSD has adopted Schoology as a Learning Management System - I will be using Schoology as well.
