Science Fiction

Course Description

Science Fiction explores the possibilities of potential change in the present and in the future. Students investigate technological, scientific, and sociological change through the study of current media forms, and classical and popular science fiction. Students may analyze literature for scientific accuracy and literary merit. Students explore their personal viewpoints in the area of science fiction.

Students in Science Fiction will receive instruction in composition and literary analysis. Science Fiction is a survey course that exposes students to a variety of reading and writing activities surrounding Science Fiction. Students read novels, short stories, plays, and essays. Students write in a variety of styles.
