Personal: Ann Root started her teaching career in Bratislava, Slovakia teaching IB Chemistry and IB Math at a K-12 international school.  She hung up her chemistry beaker upon returning to the U.S. and taught math and AP Computer Science at other Colorado schools before coming to Centaurus.  As an avid traveler, she is always looking for flight bargains and planning her next adventure.  Prior to teaching, Mrs. Root worked as a software engineer at Xilinx and Intel where she programmed in C/C++, Java, Perl and VHDL.  She recently taught herself Javascript, HTML5 and CSS and is excited to teach her students to program in many different languages!  When not traveling, Mrs. Root enjoys trail running with her dogs, reading, gardening and spending time with her husband and 2 sons.
