Behavior Management
Distance learning presents us all with formidable challenges. We are all trying to learn how to do things differently for the time being. School closures may have some children feeling confused, scared, angry, resulting in non desirable behaviors. These are normal responses based on all the uncertainty that is taking place within their lives. Moreover, I wanted to provide some helpful behavior management tools for parents, specifically Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies. Please visit my Behavior Management page for more information.

Math Addition and Subtraction Activities
Card Activity: You and your child can work together to solve both addition and subtraction problems using a deck of cards. You both flip a card over at the same time and decide wether to add or subtract the numbers. Have your child write out the number sentence (ex: 3+2=5). Allow them ample time to think, draw the equation out or use counters (see H.W. page).
Dice Activity: You and your child can work together to solve both addition and subtraction problems using two dice. You both would roll the dice at the same time and then write a number sentence based on the two numbers rolled (ex: 6-3=?). Allow them ample time to think, draw the equation out or use counters (see H.W. page).
Board Game: You and your child can work together to create a math board game. A fun and engaging way to teach both addition and subtraction.
