The Odyssey Project
Pick one option to complete. Projects will be graded based on knowledge of the epic, The Odyssey, creativity and effort. Projects will count as a test grade.
1. Make a newspaper. Use the format of a tabloid newspaper. Write articles and insert pictures about Odysseus, his crew, an episode or episodes in the Odyssey.
2. Create a 60 second version of an episode and film it. Remember that costumes, props and set are important.
3. Make a large map plotting Odysseus’ journey and provide a brief description at each location.
4. Create a diorama (3-D scene) which includes models of people, gods/goddesses, monsters, dangers, buildings, plants and animals of one of the episodes.
5. Write a traditional song with lyrics and melody about Odysseus, his journey or an episode.
6. Create a poster/powerpoint describing the 12 main Greek gods/goddesses.
7. Artwork. Create a full sized drawing or sculpture for The Odyssey. It must represent one aspect of the Epic (Odysseus battling Polyphemus, Penelope weaving at her loom, etc) Please include a page description/explanation with the piece.
