Gifted Education Eligibility Chart

Kindergarten: Referrals are completed between September and January. Formal evaluation on students accepted by the Eligibility Team is completed in January.

Grades 1 and 2: Any student currently receiving gifted services will be reviewed by the Eligibility team and formal evaluations for eligible students will occur in September /October. New student referrals are ongoing throughout the school year, the Eligibility Team will review and formal evaluations for eligible students will occur at the start of the following school year.

Grade 3: Any student currently receiving gifted services will be reviewed by the Eligibility team and formal evaluations for eligible students will occur in September /October. New student referrals are ongoing throughout the school year, the Eligibility Team will review and formal evaluations for eligible students will occur at the start of the following school year. Gifted services will continue for qualifying students through the end of fifth grade.

Grades 4 and 5: New student referrals are ongoing throughout the school year, the Eligibility Team will review and formal evaluations for eligible students will occur at the start of the following school year. Any student currently receiving gifted services will be reviewed by the Eligibility team at the end of fifth grade and formal evaluations for eligible students will occur during the fourth marking period of fifth grade.

Grades 6, 7 and 8: Eligibility for participation in the middle school gifted program was determined at the end of fifth grade for all participating and newly referred students.

Eligibility of any student new to the district will be determined on a case by case basis.
