School Counselor
Welcome!!
My name is Mary Bailey and I am so happy to continue serving
Forest Hill Elementary as the school counselor.
The 2023/2024 school year will be my fifth year as the school
counselor for Forest Hill Elementary and I have loved getting to
know the students, the families, and the community.
About me:
My passion is making a positive difference in the world. I love working with children; my goal is to help each child learn their potential and to help them understand that sometimes that comes at a different time for some kids than others.
I have two children of my own; my daughter is a student at WPCC and my son is now a Junior at Freedom. They are absolutely my pride and joy.
I have four years of teaching experience and am now in my sixth year as a school counselor. I am so happy to be serving the Forest Hill community.
School Counselor's Role:
I am above all here to support the students. School counselors follow the ASCA National Model, making sure all areas are met; social/emotional, academics, and career readiness. I will meet with the students individually, in small groups, and in classroom guidance lessons. I will advocate for the kids, support the parents, and assist as problems or concerns arise. I am also the 504 coordinator and am a member of the Attendance Committee. One of the main priorities for me as a school counselor is that your children are healthy and happy, so they are able to focus and learn.
