Videos
The human body relies on the coordinated activity of a number of body systems. This video looks at the systems that deliver oxygen and nutrients to our tissues and remove waste products such as carbon dioxide.
The program covers a wide range of topics: The human body, skeleton, muscles, nervous system, brain, blood circulatory system, heart, digestive system, waste disposal, and respiratory system.
1 - An Introduction (Body in Motion series)
The human body is always on the move. Whether we are jumping, running or sitting still; blood is pumping, muscles are contracting, and joints are moving. The body's internal systems perform complex processes every second of every day, so we can spend our time doing whatever we need to.
Digestion
Describes the process of digestion and absorption in the small intestine in humans and explain the role of the liver and pancreas in the digestion of food.
Circulation
Studies the structure of the human heart and identifies the parts of the heart and their functions.
Endrocrine
Studies the pituitary gland, the thyroid gland, pancreas, the structure and functions of the adrenal glands, the testes, and the ovaries.
Immunity
Other than swelling at a cut, and maybe some pus or a slight fever, we would be forgiven for not being aware of the existence of the human immune system. It is however a highly complex system, and when it is overwhelmed, things can get a lot more serious. In this informative and engaging program the three levels of immune defence are explored in isolation and as part of a disparate yet interconnected system.
Urinary
Shows how the urinary system removes waste materials and to learn about the organs of the human urinary system and how they help in excretion.
