This is my fifth year at William Brooks, and I LOVE being a Bear!
A little bit about me... I am starting my eleventh year as a teacher. My teaching experience is mostly Kindergarten, First and Second grade. This is my fourth year teaching SECOND GRADE!
My teaching philosophy... I believe that through positive reinforcement and successful classroom management, my classroom enhances a student's self-esteem, which creates a successful and nurturing learning environment. I also believe that a classroom is a community where there is pride and trust in each other. We learn and practice our Lifeskills (friendship, caring, problem solving, etc.) everyday in Room 11! I encourage you to have your child practice them at home as well!
When I am not teaching, you will find me outside or reading a book! My favorite book: A Dog's Purpose. I have 2 kids, one at Visions and one at SDSU, and I love to hang out with them! We like to go to Tahoe (I ski, they snowboard) and to the Bay Area to visit family and friends (I grew up in Belmont, which is just south of San Francisco). Our family dog, Piper, is the best!
A lot to look forward to this year, but mostly, I am looking forward to an amazing year with your children! Go Bears!
