Scouting for Food 2025

Why we do this:

A September 2019 report released by the U.S. Census Bureau revealed Philadelphia's poverty rate dropped to its lowest levels since 2008 while median household incomes rose. Philadelphia, however, still has the highest rate of poverty among the 10 most populous U.S. cities. All the contributions we collect at Acme are routed to Philabundance, a regional agency providing food and support services to needy families in our region.

We will be collecting donations of money (and food) at the Acme on Bethlehem Pike in Flourtown [MAP HERE], and giving the money to Philabundance via Acme's participation with them.

Scouting for Food is our annual food drive. Please help us by spending at least an hour or two asking for donations as shoppers enter a grocery store. We need help anytime between 8AM and 4PM. Some Troops and Packs drop off Scouting for Food bags or flyers door-to-door; we find that our success rate is much higher by asking for donations at the grocery stores. The time a Scout spends on this activity counts as service time toward his next rank and you can get some food shopping done while he's doing this!

There's a sign-up sheet for each day. Please make sure you're entering time slots for the correct day.
