Library FAQs

When can I visit the library?

6th and 7th grade Bethel Middle School students will visit the library with their English or Reading class. Students may also visit the library throughout the day with teacher permission. 

What is in the library?

The BEMS Library Media Center has a large collection of Fiction and Non-Fiction books. Genres featured in our Fiction section include Realistic Fiction, Sports Fiction, Humor Fiction, Scary Stories, Mystery & Adventure Fiction, Historical Fiction, Science Fiction, and Fantasy Fiction. Students also have access to a large collection of Graphic Novels, Biographies, and Libros en Espanol. The library media center also offers a large collection of Non-Fiction books about a variety of topics. We offer access to ebooks and audiobooks through the Destiny Discover and Epic apps.

How many books may I check out?

6th and 7th grade Bethel Middle School students can check out up to two books at a time. If a student has "lost" books on their account, they are limited to one book at a time until all "lost" books are returned, paid for, or replaced.

How long can I check out a book?

All library books are due two weeks after they are checked out. 

I lost or damaged my book, what do I do now?

All lost or damaged books must be returned, paid for, or replaced. See Ms. Chastain for details.
