My full name is Elisabeth Larson. Some friends call me Elisabeth, some call me Liz and some call me Elisa. Most people I know in Brookfield call me Elisa or Elisabeth and, of course, Mrs. Larson.
I grew up in Connecticut, mostly New Milford but I have also lived in Milford, Southbury, and Newtown. I attended private schools in New Milford, Torrington, and Trumbull as well as 2 years of Home School for 6th and 7th grade.
I went to Judson College in Elgin, IL and graduated with a degree in Youth Ministry and Adolescent Studies. Then came back home to attend Western Connecticut State University where I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in History. I completed my Masters of Middle School Mathematics Education from Western Governors University and I obtained a degree from the University of Bridgeport in Administrative Leadership.
This is my nineteenth year teaching in a classroom setting. I taught for three years in 3rd grade at Huckleberry Hill Elementary School, for three years in first grade at Center Elementary School, and 12 years in Kindergarten. I am so excited for my new adventure in 4th grade at Candlewood Lake Elementary.
I live in Southbury with my husband Patrick who I have been married to for 17 years . We have two boys. Their names are Micah and Austin Joseph, whom we call A.J. Austin is 16 years old and in 10th grade and Micah is 13 and in 8th grade. We also have a few pets: a mini Sheepadoodle named Winston, a chinchilla named Meatball, and a Bearded Dragon named Rocko. Mr. Larson and I make maple syrup in the winter too.
A few of my favorite things? My favorite color is aqua. My favorite stores are T.J. Maxx, Staples, Target, American Eagle, and Michaels. My favorite food is Pho ( a kind of soup). I LOVE tea and coffee especially from Starbucks! My favorite animal is an owl. My favorite place to be in the Summer besides home is in Ogunquit, Maine. My favorite sport to watch - football - GO GIANTS! I love to watch my kids play soccer, baseball, flag football, and perform Taekwondo, piano, saxophone and cello. I am also a huge Yankees fan!! :)
