Starting in fourth grade, children begin to study either a band instrument or a string instrument. On this page, you will find files and information that is relevant to parents of Lincoln Band students.
Band Scheduling
Students meet one day per week with Mr. Booz for a 30-minute weekly small-group instrumental lesson. In most cases, lesson times are rotated each week, so students band time does not affect students' work in their homeroom. Also, students meet for a 40-minute large group band ensemble class. This allows the students to learn to work collaboratively with other musicians, follow a conductor, and prepare to be a member of performing group. The small-group lesson and band ensemble class are very different from each other, and both are important.
