a) How old do I have to be to enroll in the Driver’s Education Program?

You have to be a minimum of 15 years and 9 months to enroll.

b) Do I need a Learner’s Permit to enroll in the Driver’s Education Program?

No, you do not need a Learner’s Permit to take the class. However, you have to have a Learner’s Permit before the 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training.

c) How long must I wait after getting a Learner’s Permit to take the Test for a License?

If you are under the age of 25, you must be a Learner's Permit holder for 9 months, have completed the Driver’s Education Program, and have at least 60 hours of practice driving on the road before you can appear to take the Road Test at the MVA.

If you are over the age of 25, you will need to be a Learner's Permit holder for 45 days, have completed the Driver's Education Program, and have completed 14 hours of practice driving on the road prior to taking your Provisional License road test.

d) Will you pick me up for classes?

No, we do not pickup students for classes. Students are responsible for getting to class on time. There is a convenient Metro bus route adjacent to the school (metro bus numbers 86 and 89).

e) Do you pick up for the driving part of the Driver’s Education Program?

We prefer that you provide your own transportation to and from the school. In cases where this is extremely difficult and you live within a few miles from the school, upon the discretion of the instructor’s schedule, we may be able to pick you up or drop you off.

f) How many classes can I miss?

You can miss up to 4 classes. Each class missed must be made up in the following session (i.e. if you miss the first Tuesday and the second Wednesday, you must attend the first Tuesday and the second Wednesday of the following session). If you miss more than 4 classes, you must repeat the entire session (all 10 classes).

g) What if I am late for a class?

You can be no later than 15 minutes for the class. If you are later, it will be counted as a missed class and you must make it up in the following session.

h) How are your vehicles different?

Our vehicles are specially marked as student driver vehicles. They are custom fitted with passenger side controls for instructor control when necessary.

i) Can I register by phone?

No, you must come in person to register. Please refer to the registration page for more information.

j) How do students receive the behind-the-wheel training?

The driving portion of be Drivers Education Program is conducted on an one-on-one basis with one of our instructors. The six hours of driving will be scheduled in threes sessions of two hours each.
