Our volunteer experiences are varied and flexible
You can:
Become a Unit Leader or Assistant Leader - we need extra leaders!!
Become a regular Unit Helper - come to meetings weekly, fortnightly or 3 times a term to help our leaders
Join one of our Parent Support Teams (eg Fundraising)
Help keep our hall clean and tidy
Come camping with us
Lend us a trailer for camp
Help us pack/unpack for camp or for special outings
Help supervise special activities, eg outdoor cooking, rock climbing
Teach a special skill
Help sew our camp scarfs
Help with our fundraising drives
Dads can help out too! So can Grandma, Grandpa, Aunty etc
No experience is needed to become a Unit Leader - we will provide lots of support and on the job training. You just need to enjoy helping girls to reach their full potential :-)
Business Support
If you are (or know) a local Hillcrest business which could support us please let us know!
Help from any of these businesses would be appreciated and we can thank you in our newsletters and online!

A. If you have current certificates (within the last 5 years) just photocopy and bring it and the original along to a unit meeting to be recorded (we keep the copy)
B. If you need one you can get it done for FREE through us!
To start a SAPOL National Police Check
Go to https://www.police.sa.gov.au/services-and-events/apply-for-a-police-record-check to get the form, follow the directions to get your ID verified then bring it to Guides. We supply the VON number and send it off for processing. When you receive your check follow option A above.
Unfortunately we can no longer accept a Catholic Screening or any other National Check screening in place of a SAPOL Police Check.
As long as you remain a volunteer a new checks are required when the old ones expire (becomes 5 years old).
Girl Guides is proud of our Child Protection record. As such we require all regular volunteers to complete a General Volunteer form (available below) and return it to your unit leader.
You also require a current South Australian Police (SAPOL) National Police Check and a Working With Children Check.
