One of my favorite activities is playing the horn, more commonly referred to as the French Horn, though there isn't much French about it. I'm in my second lifetime of playing, having taken an 18-year hiatus during college and career-building. By now this second lifetime has lasted longer than the first. I started playing again in 1993 with the Vestal Community Band. While I appreciate their tolerance while I regained some lip and skill, it has been a pleasure to play in several organizations since. Currently I play in the Southern Tier Concert Band, an excellent group performing top-level wind ensemble repertoire, the Binghamton Community Orchestra, where all the winds are, essentially, soloists, and in the Mosaic Winds woodwind quintet.
