Common misunderstood rules:
- Once someone has subbed in the game for a player on the court, they can only switch in that position for the remainder of the set. (Which means they can only sub with that person for the rest of the set.)
- There are only 18 subs allowed in a set. Once a team reaches that max, the players who are on the court, stay for the remainder of the set. (Excluding the LIBERO, because their switching in and out does not count towards the sub total.)
- The LIBERO can not overhand set the ball in front of the 3 meter line.
- If a setter contacts the ball in front of the 3 meter line and sends it to the opponents side, and the ball is COMPLETELY above the height of the net, that is illegal.
- Double contact on the First ball over is legal, as long as it is one attempt at playing the ball.
