Past WW5K

Fall 2023

Students will begin the day in sessions tackling challenges, learning about themselves and participating in activities. In the afternoon students will spend time with their advisory and then navigate a relay rally by their grade level. Our goal is to engage students in self-awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision.

Fall 2018

The Witch Way event was held on October 27, 2018.  The weather this year threw a bit of a curve ball into our original plans and caused us to move the event inside.  What was supposed to be the Witch Way Fun Run morphed into the Witch Way Fun Fest. We were able to offer the over 300 participants crafts, food, fun, and games.  Proceeds raised topped $23,000!  The funds raised were used to purchase additional classroom sound systems as stools for students use in the dining hall.

As in year’s past, the 2018 event incorporated the Witch Way’s give-back campaign. The Lurgio staff and students are committed to community outreach, and ten percent of the race’s net proceeds each year are donated to a local community organization or cause. We are very excited that this year’s donation of $1800 will benefit Camp Allen of Bedford, which serves adults and children with cognitive and physical challenges.

Fall 2014

The fifth annual WW5K was a successful and fantastic community event. The race netted over $26,000, which we used to purchase two classroom sets of Chromebooks for student use. These lightweight, extended battery-life, cloud-based laptops have enhanced instruction by creating efficient systems and dynamic environments within which learning can take place. Once again this year, the Lurgio community gave back 10% of the race's net proceeds to Camp Allen of Bedford. We donated $1900.00 to this great organization which serves adults and children with cognitive and physical challenges.
