This is my 23rd year in education. I believe that all students have the capability to learn. I expect students to be engaged in their learning. Students need to be empowered learners where they are able to take responsibility for their learning.
I was born in Pittsburgh, PA but grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Western Michigan University and a Master's of Science in Integrating Technology in the Classroom from Walden University. I first started teaching in Palm Springs, CA and now in Beaverton. I have also coached high school wrestling and baseball. I love all sorts of activities indoors and outdoors. I am a fan of the University of Michigan, Detroit Tigers, Detroit RedWings, Detroit Pistons, and Pittsburgh Steelers! I have been married for 18 years to my wife Jennifer who teaches Kindy at Findley Elementary. I have a son, Liam, who is in 3rd Grade, and a daughter, Lily, 2 years old. I also have two dogs, Pismo and Lucy. You will hear stories about Liam and my animals all year! I do not have any siblings and my parents are retired in the Las Vegas, NV, area.
