Polices and Resources

The following resources are essential to your success at CSTM.  Be sure to review them before your first meeting and to have them on hand anytime you meet with your advisor about course planning, and/or career and vocational discernment.

All students are expected to become familiar with the Academic Policies and Procedures of the CSTM.   These policies are linked  from every program handbook and can be found on the Resources for Current Students page on the CSTM website. 

For first-year MATM, MDIV, and MTS students. A student’s program of studies is developed in close consultation with an academic advisor, with attention paid to the student’s background and aspirations. These guides are meant to prepare students for their first meeting with their academic advisor during orientation week. 

Each Degree Program has a Handbook and a Program of Study to help you and your advisor successfully plot your course selection over the duration of your degree program.  It is essential for you to maintain an updated Program of Study, and to have it with you during each meeting with your advisor. It is helpful for you to provide them with a copy of your latest update.

Not all courses are created equal! This resource will help you determine which courses count towards your degree requirements; which are good electives for your particular program; which require prerequisite course work; and, which are appropriate for advanced level study.

Known around the CSTM as "the GRID" this document provides a quick look at all courses scheduled for a particular semester of study. 

Access important dates and deadlines for course and program related topics, like thesis deadlines, comprehensive exam dates, semester start/end dates, etc. This calendar also includes the social, spiritual, and academic programs of the CSTM, and all student and faculty meeting dates.

During your studies at the CSTM, you will be assigned various writing projects, from short reflections to more lengthy research papers. This guide will answer your questions about the acceptable style and formatting of these assignments. Faculty of the CSTM have approved the protocols detailed in this guide; however, individual professors reserve the authority to override these protocols for specific assignments. If no special instructions are given, you should follow the guidelines offered herein.
