The Morse Building Library is a special place designed for students in Beginners, Kindergarten, and First Grade. Large windows provide plenty of natural light which make the library a bright and inviting spot. With a view of towering pines and the playground, children can glance out the window to wave to a friend or marvel at the ever-changing weather.

The Morse Building library houses a collection of over 5,000 books that reflect the diversity of our academic community, fostering students' personal growth and identity. Picture books, beginning-to-read books, and chapter books provide for many different reading levels. Across a variety of genres, titles range from familiar classics to new and notable books chosen to inform, delight, and spark curiosity as our youngest readers learn about themselves, others and the world.

Children have an opportunity to visit the library once a week as a class. Students listen to a story, select books to check out and begin to develop the first steps of library skills. In addition to fostering the joy of reading, the read aloud time helps children enrich their vocabulary and develop listening skills. When signing out books, students choose from a variety of titles and genre as well as learn the responsibility of borrowing and returning a book within a given period of time Children learn how the library is arranged by categories, what types of books can be found in the library and how to find books for pleasure reading and personal interest. In addition, classrooms are well-stocked with books from the library.
