My name is Mr. Manock and I am the Principal at Ballard East which houses over 400 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students from Kelley, Huxley, Slater, and Cambridge. My wife and I have four children (Hunter, Colton, Jocelyn and Jenna. I have worked in the education field for over twenty years as a teacher, coach, college instructor as well as an administrator at all levels K-12.
I am originally from Blue Grass, Iowa and am a graduate of Davenport West High School. I have degrees from the University of Northern Iowa, Viterbo University, and Drake University.
I started my career as a teacher in West Des Moines and then as an administrator in the Southeast Polk school district. I moved to Ballard as the associate principal at Ballard High School in 2011. In 2013, I was given the opportunity to become East Elementary's Principal. I have been able to work with the wonderful staff and students at East.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching my kids, vacationing, hunting, fishing, and boating. Please contact me with any questions you have about Ballard or Ballard East Elementary. It is a wonderful place for students and families!
