Meet Mrs. Dovre

I grew up in Slater and attended Ballard West and Ballard Jr/Sr High. After high school, I attended Simpson College in Indianola. While there, I played tennis and earned a degree in English and Secondary Education. A memorable college experience was traveling to Greece and Turkey in 2006. I came back to the Ballard District as a coach in 2005, and I started teaching in 2007 as a 7th grade English teacher. In 2011, I moved into the role of District Library Media Specialist and assisted with the opening of our new high school library. In May of 2013, I completed my Masters in School Library Media Studies from the University of Northern Iowa.

I couldn't be more excited about serving students and staff in the Ballard District. Please visit me for your reading, writing, research, and technology needs. My office is located on the first floor of the High School Library Media Center.

My husband teaches DMACC/AP Composition and Literature courses at Ballard High School. We have two daughters. We love to travel, get outdoors, watch and play sports, spend time with family, and learn new things. We are honored to work for Ballard CSD.
