Meet Mrs. Dabney

Hello!

My name is Heather Dabney, and this will be my 12th year teaching literacy at Ballard Community Schools! After I graduated from Drake University with an B.A. in elementary and middle school education, I taught in the Des Moines and Ames school districts before making Ballard my home.

My husband and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary this past summer, and we have two boys, Bennett (4) and Bryce (2), along with our dog, Daisy.

We enjoy traveling - we are mountain people, playing board games - think strategy games like Settlers of Catan or card games, going for walks, watching movies - Marvel is our favorite, and spending time together as a family.

I am a huge fan of Ziggi's Coffee, sushi, Hobby Lobby, Sarah J. Maas, Sing 2, dogs, bonfires, biking, the color red, fall, and going to the zoo, and Starbursts.

I look forward to learning with you this year!
