Hi, I'm Mrs. Fiala. This is my sixteenth year as an AV-W Musky and my fourth year teaching 4th grade English Language Arts Teacher. I earned my undergraduate degree from Marquette University in Psychology and Social Philosophy. While in Milwaukee, I began working as an in home and school therapist for students on the Autism Spectrum. It was this wonderful experience that made me realized I wanted to become a Special Education teacher. I then earned my teaching license and Masters degree from the University of Oshkosh. The first three years of my teaching career I worked at an elementary school in Oshkosh where I taught in a classroom for students with Intellectual Disabilities. I was very grateful for the opportunity to move back to my hometown in 2010, when I got a teaching position here at AV-W as a Resource Teacher. After 15 years as a Special Education Teacher I decided it was time for a change and I switched to regular education and lucky me, I get to teach my favorite subject, English Language Arts.
I currently live in Minocqua with my husband and my two wonderful children: Amelia (9 yrs) and Ivan (6 years). We have two very energetic dogs, named Finn and Otis. I love spending time with my family but also enjoy reading, running, boating, traveling, and snowshoeing.
