Methodology
I teach Stat Express using mostly student-led discovery based activities, in the style of MATD 0485. Students can work through them on their own, with either instructor stopping and bringing the class together as needed for clarification. The instructors' main task during class is to walk between groups and address individual question as they come up and a group gets stuck, guiding students rather than giving outright answers when possible.
The instructors also provide a brief wrap-up lecture at the end of each activity. In my class, this usually involves touching on any parts of the activity where students struggled and revisiting the Learning Outcomes listed at the beginning of the activity. The wrap-up is typically 5-10 minutes long.
