I grew up in Calais, Maine and earned my bachelor’s degrees from the University of Southern Maine. This will be my 35th year employed as an educator. I was a classroom teacher for 20 years, working in both Maine and South Carolina. In 2003, I earned a Master of Education in educational administration from the University of South Carolina, and in 2005, I accepted a position as assistant principal for instruction at Pelion Elementary School, a Pre-K-4 elementary school in Lexington School District One serving Lexington County in South Carolina. After 6 years in this position, I decided it was time to come home to Maine. I was fortunate to be offered the position of principal at Dayton Consolidated School and I worked there for 3 years. In 2014, I became principal of Songo Locks School in Naples, Maine.
