Family Support Team (FST) Meetings
The Family Support Team (FST) provides an opportunity for families and school staff to work together in an effort to support students. The team consists of the student's parent/guardian, teacher(s), site administrator, learning center teacher, and any other requested specialists. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss strengths and struggles, with the goal of developing a plan to help students become successful in the school environment and beyond.

504 Accomodation Plan
Students with disabilities may be eligible for additional accommodations or supports while in the regular educational setting. Section 504 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act protects this right. Students eligible for a Section 504 Accommodation Plan are identified through the schools' Family Support Team (FST) process. Classroom teachers are an integral part of this process and participate in identifying and implementing accommodations and supports for students so they may be successful in the school environment.

Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
The Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is a written document that is created for each public school child eligible for special education services under the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act (IDEA). The IEP is developed through a team process and reviewed at least once per year. Before an IEP can be written, your child must be determined eligible for special education services through an evaluation process. Federal law mandates a multidisciplinary team must determine that your child has a disability and requires special education services in order to benefit from the general education program.
