Early Childhood Screenings

Early Childhood Screening is a free, mandatory screening for all Minnesota children and is best done when children are 3-years-old. Screening is a simple, careful check of your young child's speech and language, thinking skills, physical development, and social/emotional health. It is designed to ensure the healthy growth of students to be successful in any educational setting and if needed, connect them to resources that will support their development.

Early Childhood Screenings are required for entrance in Minnesota's public schools.

Ashby School hosts Early Childhood Screenings in the fall and spring of each year. Families with age eligible children on Ashby's birth-5 census will be contacted to schedule a screening. Complete the survey below if you are unsure if your child is on the school census list.
