Grading:
There will be at least 10 assignments (daily grades) per quarter (each 9 weeks). This will count as 60% of their grade. Tests will be given as we complete a section or unit. This will count as 40% of their grade. If a student makes below a 70 on an assignment/test, they will have 3 days to make up the grade. They may earn back 1/2 of their original grade. (If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.)
Class Overview:
These are the concepts the students will work on (Technology TEKS).
(1) Creativity and innovation. The student uses creative thinking and innovative processes to construct knowledge, generate new ideas, and create products.
(2) Communication and collaboration. The student collaborates and communicates both locally and globally to reinforce and promote learning.
(3) Research and information fluency. The student acquires, analyzes, and manages content from digital resources.
(4) Critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making. The student makes informed decisions by applying critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
(5) Digital citizenship. The student practices safe, responsible, legal, and ethical behavior while using technology tools and resources
(6) Technology operations and concepts. The student demonstrates a thorough understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations.
Desktop Publishing students work through the Microsoft Office Specialist courses in order to prepare for the Business Information Management (BIM) class they will take in high school.

Assignments and classroom notes will be posted in Google Classroom.
Required Resources:
All students must have their own set of earbuds for use in the computer classroom.
Homework:
On occasions, students may have homework in computer class. Homework is expected to be completed by the next school day.
