CELL PHONE POLICY

📵 AHS CLASSROOM PHONE POLICY 📵

At the start of class:

• Place your phone in your assigned slot in the phone caddy.

• If you don’t have a phone, let your teacher know.

• Phones stay in the caddy for the entire class.

During class:

• Phones may NOT stay in pockets, backpacks, or on desks.

• Use is only allowed with teacher permission for learning or emergencies.

• Phones are not allowed in bathrooms or hallways during class time.

What happens if you don’t follow the policy? 

1.  The phone will be held by the teacher until the end of class.

2.  The phone will be sent to the office for pickup at the end of the day.

3.  Parent/guardian must pick up the phone and meet with the teacher.

4.  Repeated violations may lead to daily phone check-ins with the Dean.

• Bring a charged device as well as its charger to class every day

A phone is not an acceptable device to work on

• Bring writing utensils, as well as something to write on

• We will be using devices regularly, but students are expected to be fully present in class and will be asked to put devices away during class activities and discussions
  
  

• Students should put phones away on the caddy once class starts. Phones on desks, bagpacks or pockets won't be allowed.

If a student refuses to follow this policy, the teacher will follow the consequences detailed on the AHS cell phone policy document above
