Message from Renata Bryant concerning benchmark statements:

From the previous conversation via phone, I would make my benchmark statements general for we do not really know enough about the new assessment. For instance, our ultimate goal is to strive for all students to be proficient / advanced. I would state something along the lines of: We want all students to be proficient / advanced based on the Performance Level Descriptors (PLD) of the new state assessment in 2014- 2015. I would even consider looking at my areas of concern such as open responses or content to determine which is a need for the campus / district. I would also state that further information will be provided when training / professional development is established for the new state assessment.
