March 2015

AGENDA

1. General Discussion: Link to Bill Finder

2. Sharing of Programs (Lexia and Edgenuity)

1. Discussion about private schools requesting SPED assistance when they have no poverty (catered lunches). Jenny shared the survey form Russellville used this year (attached at bottom). If they have no poverty, they will not qualify for Title I. Jenny shared two documents that have been uploaded at the bottom.

2. SB851 - new effort to amend the purposes of national school lunch (rules) for how NSLA must be spent. Concerns:

    • Crossed out all of the language about allocation of funds approved by SBE but were not limited to those listed only. Amended so that school districts shall expend those funds for purposes listed only.

3. Budget amendment to ACSIP deadline is May 1

4. Rules and regs will be limited because of HB851. Some things that now are allowable will not be if this bill is passed. Read bill closely, especially page 4 line 12-17 in comparison to page 2.

5. State FC meeting registration will be posted soon - May 6-8. Should be greatly beneficial.

6. New final allocations - will that be pre-populated in the plan? Jenny said it should do this and doesn't believe you can go in and do this by hand. Must be done by May 1.

7. Carryover - Title I is 15%
