GE for Transfer Students

We're glad that you chose Azusa Pacific University to complete your Bachelor's degree! Our goal when you initially transferred into our community was to make that process as clear and simple as possible. Here are a few things you should know if you entered APU as a transfer student:

• First-Year Seminar (GE 100) is waived from the GE program for traditional undergraduate students with 30+ units transferred before their first APU semester. It is a recommended 0-unit, optional Canvas course for all professional undergraduate students studying at one of APU's regional centers or fully online.
• The Personal Wellness requirement is waived from the GE program for traditional undergraduate students with 60+ units transferred before their first APU semester. It is not required for all professional undergraduate students studying at one of APU's regional centers or fully online.
• The Biblical, Theological, and Philosophical Formation Requirements are reduced based on the total number of units transferred before first APU semester. Specific details about reductions can be found in the APU Academic Catalog (embedded below):

Full IGETC or CSU Breadth Certification waives the Philosophy Requirement and all Intellectual and Practical Skills, Knowledge of Human Cultures & the Physical World, and Personal and Social Responsibility Requirements except Writing 3.

• The Biblical, Theological, and Philosophical Formation Requirements are not completely waived, but they are reduced based on the total number of units transferred before the first APU semester.
• The Integrative and Applied Learning Requirement is NOT waived.
• The Quantitative Literacy Requirement (Math) is satisfied by the following test scores:

• Some Bachelor of Music programs waive Fitness for Life, Quantitative Literacy, and Foreign Language – Proficiency Requirements.
