Welcome to Room 121
Hello December, Goodbye 2022!?!
Hello parents and students1
As we wrap up the first semester of the 2022-23 school year I want to give a special shout out to all of you who have put the time and effort into supporting our students for the classroom, while at home. As a teacher, we can always see time, love, and effort you all pout forth in giving our students the best and it is reflected in their daily determination to overcome hard things and their work ethic.
Though December is only a few weeks long, we pack a lot of content, assessments, projects and social activities into our school day. It's a lot, but every year our students make us proud and perform at their their absolute best! Please make sure your student gets plenty of rest and provide reminders for your child to choose strategies that help them stay calm and focused. We will be helping with our annual holiday social skills lessons and activities with the hope they will use their tools to bridge supports between home and school.

Mrs. Amber
My full name is Amber Renee Deininger-Feathers. I have been married for 14 years to my awesome husband who works as a lead editor and content writer for multiple online companies. We have two children: our six- year old daughter named, Violet and our four- year old son named, Rook. We also have four fluffy dogs, four fluffy guinea pigs, and a black cat names Jinxy, helping to make our home a full house.
This is my tenth year working as a Social Communications and Support and Services teacher at DRMS. Before teaching I worked in a locally-owned camera store. I have both a BFA in Fine Arts (Painting) and a Masters in Special Education. I am currently a Tier 3 licensed teacher and hold a TESOL endorsement (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
Beyond teaching I also mentor for multiple programs with UNM, CNM, and APS. We are very fortunate to have AMAZING folks come and join our crew over the years.
Mrs. Amber's favorite things: Starbucks, Target, old movies, old cameras, American Contemporary Art, (and dogs!!).
