A Bit About Me
Hello! I'm Mr. Graffius. This year, I will be teaching Spanish I, Spanish II H, Spanish III H and 'AP Spanish Language and Culture'. This is my 11th year with the district, and my 14th year teaching. I graduated from Millersville University in 2012 with a BSEd in Spanish, and again in 2017, when I completed my MA in Spanish. I also hold a 'Professional Spanish Certificate' from East Stroudsburg University.
I have not only studied the Spanish language, but also the literature, history and cultures of Spain and Spanish-American countries; however, my passion is linguistics. As part of my undergraduate degree, I lived (and studied) for half a year in Burgos, Spain, where I attended the University of Burgos, and also took a course in Mexico. I speak English and Spanish, of course, but I have also studied French and am currently learning Catalan.
In addition to teaching Spanish, I work with WAHS Drama as the Assistant Director and Business Manager for our fall plays and spring musicals, and I'm the advisor of the WAHS Tabletop Gaming Club and the co-advisor of the WAHS Roleplaying Games Club. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to live theatre shows, playing board games, collecting sneakers and vintage computers, watching international 'football', and when possible, traveling.
UN POCO SOBRE MÍ
¡Hola! Soy el Sr. Graffius. Este año, enseño Español I, Español II H, Español III H y 'AP Spanish Language and Culture'. Al concluir este año escolar, habré enseñado en el distrito por 11 años y en total habré llevado 14 años en la profesión. Me gradué de la Universidad de Millersville en 2012 con una licenciatura en Educación y Español, y luego otra vez en 2017, cuando completé una maestría en Español. Además, tengo un certificado en 'Español Profesional' de la Universidad de East Stroudsburg.
No solo he estudiado la lengua española, sino también la literatura, la historia y las culturas de España y de los países de Hispanoamérica; sin embargo, mi pasión es la lingüística. Como parte de mi primer título universitario, viví (y estudié) medio año en Burgos, España, donde asistí a la Universidad de Burgos, y además tomé un curso en México. Hablo inglés y español, claro, pero también he estudiado francés y estudio catalán.
Además de enseñar español, trabajo con la compañía de teatro de la escuela, y soy el consejero del club de juegos de mesa y el co-consejero del club de juegos de rol. Fuera de la escuela, me gusta pasar tiempo con mi familia, coleccionar tenis y computadoras antiguas, ver fútbol internacional, y cuando sea posible, viajar.
