Co-Taught with Amie Ciluffo Larson, WHS Art Department
What are your secrets? What do you fear? Can facing your fears liberate and empower you?
Objective: To learn ways to express ourselves visually and use the expresssion to explore our inner thoughts.
Things to prepare before our class: Please bring the following to our Creative Journaling Power Up class with the following:
*One piece of original writing (ie: poetry, short story, homework assignment, doodles...)
*A picture or written explanation of something you fear (ie: spiders, being alone, loss..)
*A picture or written explanation of something that makes you feel empowered and confident (ie: playing a sport, art, music, puplic speaking..)
Together we will weave our fears and secrets into a group sculpture and use our strengths and original writing to liberate us.
No one will be reading our thougts so please be honest and true to yourself when thinking about your fears and what liberates you. The final piece that we create will be a symbol of your secrets and it should remind us all of how we can overcome our fears.
Materials that will be used: Paper Mache (wheat paste), rice paper, copper wire, yarn and a variety of other supplies used in the Creative Journaling class.
