*** RESET & RESTORE ***
Students now have access to a calming space in Student Services to self-regulate when they are stressed out. We call it the Reset & Restore Room. This space is equipped with soft seating (couches, bean bags, a rocking chair), low lighting, and regulation tools such as fidgets and sensory pillows. The walls have tapestries for visualization strategies and white boards for doodling.
Students can sign in for 10-15 minutes during the school day, and then access the Social Workers nearby for additional support, if needed. We all need to be able to recognize when we become overwhelmed, anxious, or otherwise dysregulated and take some time in that moment to reset. We are hopeful that this moment of calm can help to make the rest of the day feel more manageable.
