Teacher Biography

Ms. Teoh-Berbee is excited to be teaching at Lake Middle School, where she has taught since 2003! She grew up in northern Wisconsin, but feels that Minnesota is her true home. Although she began playing the piano and violin in elementary school, she fell in love with singing when she was in her first musical theatre production and hasn't stopped singing since that production wrapped! She graduated from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Music Education, and later earned her Master of Arts in Music Education with a Choral Conducting Emphasis from the University of St. Thomas. Ms. Teoh-Berbee has sung in The St. Olaf Choir under the direction of Anton Armstrong, Magnum Chorum under the direction of Christopher Aspaas, See Change under the direction of Angela Broeker, and Kantorei under the direction of Axel Theimer. Ms. Teoh-Berbee is also an active member of the Minnesota chapter of the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA), having served as an honor choir adjudicator, section coach, pick-six repertoire presenter, and the ACDA-MN state secretary. In 2016, Ms. Teoh-Berbee was the guest conductor for the ACDA-MN 7/8 State SSA Honor Choir. Ms. Teoh-Berbee is also a member of the VoiceCare Network.

In addition to teaching and her musical pursuits, Ms. Teoh-Berbee enjoys exercising, reading, and traveling with her husband, Chris, and playing and singing with her son, Gabriel.
