Tuner or tuner app: This device tells the student if they are playing the correct note and if the pitch of that note is too high or low.

Recordings of professionals who play your instrument; again, there are lots of recordings available on-line.

A collection of solos or popular music to work on at the end of each practice session; many are available in a "play-along" format.

Band Room Wish List

With almost 300 students participating in Band at CGMS, we go through A LOT of supplies. Items on the Wish List include the following:

Tissues and Paper Towel: The Band Room goes through thousands of tissues and paper towel a year. Although it is not required, please consider donating a box or roll if at all possible. You can drop it off in the Band Room during Open House nights or simply bring it sometime during the first few weeks of school. or anytime. We use a lot!!

Pencils: Music students should (and do!) go through hundreds of pencils a year. It's nice to have an extra supply available in the Band Room for students who forget theirs.

Additional Lesson Books: We have switched to different lesson book series in recent years and don't have many extra lesson books available at school. We are in need of extra copies of the lesson books for students who forget theirs at home or are not able to purchase their own.

Monetary Donations: Each arrangement we play at a concert costs between $50-100. Monetary donations for the purchase of new music is very appreciated.
