Montreal World Cup Trip

Hello Soccer Parents!
I’m writing to update you with important information on our soccer program’s trip to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Finals in Montreal on Sunday. First, our bus will depart Mt. Abe at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 24th. We’re seeing both the 3rd place and Championship matches of the tournament at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium. We’ll return after the final match and be back at Mt. Abe around 1:00 a.m. Both Varsity Coach, Dustin Corrigan, and JV Coach, Bonnie Huizenga will be on the trip with the girls supervising. Players will need to bring with them the following items and show them to the coaches before boarding the bus on Sunday.

Original or Certified Birth Certificate and Photo ID (school ID will work), or Passport.
The bus we’ve paid for already. The tickets, you must purchase or sell an extra fundraising subscription by Friday to pay for. To purchase tickets go online to http://www.ticketmaster.ca/search?tm_link=tm_homeA_header_search&aid=1928863&user_input=fifa+&q=FIFA+U-20+Women%27s+World+Cup+Canada+2014. Purchase your tickets to Match 31/32. We have 45 tickets reserved with the unique Offer Code DTR4PL. It's very important you enter the offer code correctly when you purchase your ticket so we're all seated together. The tickets each cost $16 CA plus $5.15 CA fees, which equates to a total of about $20 a ticket in US currency. Select the “print at home” option so you can print your ticket right away and no shipping cost. If you use the offer code correctly, the ticket you purchase should be near Section 106 and cost $21.15 CA. If you struggle with the online purchase process, you’re welcome to give me $20 and I will buy your ticket on my person credit card and print it for you. If the cost is a hardship, please let me know privately. Players also have the opportunity to fundraise their ticket using the fundraising materials and directions they were given on Friday.
For the trip, players should dress for the weather and bring snacks and money for food. Important to note that the event staff may not allow backpacks or water bottles into the stadium. Players should bring some money to buy food and drinks. Our tickets are good for both games, but not for reentry into the stadium to walk out and back in, so we’ll all be staying together in the stadium for the duration of both games. We will make a convenience/food stop on the way back after the game as well.
If you’d like to attend the match, ride the bus with us, and help chapperone, let me know, as we have about 6 extra seats and you’re welcome to join us. Wendy McArdle also has some really nice more expensive extra tickets in the front row, but in a different section from our players and coaching staff. She’s holding these tickets for any of our moms that want to go together to the match. Let her know if you’re interested in joining her and other parents in some soccer viewing fun apart from your daughters.
