S.T.E.M. Do you know what STEM stands for?
Science
Technology
Engineering
Math
STEM curriculum embodies the idea of teaching students in these four disciplines. It is an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach science, technology, engineering, and math as separate subjects, STEM integrates and bases them on real-world situations.
While we focus on these four fields, there is much more we integrate into the curriculum. Art, reading, writing, geography, psychology and many more fields all help us in the design process and in meeting our STEM goals.
In the 7th grade, students focus on the design and modeling aspects of STEM. Not only will students be sketching and drafting their designs, they will also be designing their projects using 3D modeling software.
8th grade reviews and refines the design process then moves into robotics and coding for a majority of the school year.
