AEF 2022 Requests

Dear Staff,


Spring is on the horizon and another school year is coming to a close. What was missing from the classroom this year that we can help supply? The Amboy Education Foundation remains dedicated to providing support to you and the school district through the annual grant process. Last year there was some confusion that we only wanted new and innovative requests and as a result did not receive enough requests to fulfill the provided allocation to each school. While we love to partner in the purchase of new technology and support innovative instructional opportunities we don’t want to discourage or limit anyone from requesting what they feel are basic classroom supplies.


We are quite aware education is being challenged on a daily basis with students (and teachers) learning/working remotely due to illness and quarantines. We also believe the single greatest asset in the School District is you! How can we help you make an impact?

The AEF would like to demonstrate our commitment to you and the students by maintaining a high level of financial support again this year. As such, we have maintained the funding level of $6,000 per school. So please, let us be part of the support mechanism that helps you do the job you love in addition to providing learning opportunities for your students. Grade level as well as individual classroom requests are encouraged. We will also plan to contribute funding at the District level toward the annual lease of Chromebooks to help maintain the 1:1 initiative.


We will continue to use a standardized form to submit all requests. If you have multiple needs, please submit separate requests. We are using a Google Sheet format again this year. See link below to access form. We appreciate your time to provide the requested information as it assists in organizing requests by grade level support, provides insight to the educational benefit as well as the number of students benefited. Please include any supplemental information (price quotes, product descriptions, photos, etc.) that will help us in our efforts.

Each year there are questions from the allocation committee regarding requests that are delayed by having them submitted to the Principals. By the time we receive them everyone is on Spring Break and there is not enough time between your return to work and our meeting to get some of these answers. To help resolve this, I am asking the requests be sent directly to me at beckermk1@comcast.net . This will give us the week before you leave on Spring Break to communicate directly with you and answer any questions the committee may have.


All requests must be received by Friday, March 18, 2022.


We would also like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your support and generosity. Participation by staff at each of our events is one of the reasons for our success and an outward sign of your dedication to the students. We look forward to working with you and assist in the growth and development of the students of Amboy CUSD # 272.
