Welcome to the AMBOY EDUCATION FOUNDATION Web Page

June 2017

Another school year over, graduation parties complete and families are in full swing of summer.  Congratulations to the graduating class of 2017.  Amboy has produced another talented class with high expectations for their future.   The Amboy Education Foundation (AEF) is proud to be a small part of the success of the students of Amboy.  Every year funds are allocated to each school to help the staff meet their classroom and instructional needs and for the second year in a row the AEF was able to allocate a total of $28,000 for the 2017-2018 school year.  This feat is only possible through the generosity of local vendors and the response from the community.  We are also proud to announce the recipients of the Shirley M. Rolf memorial scholarship for young women.  Receiving $2,000 scholarships were Nataly Jones and Arianna Noble.  Congratulations to both of these young ladies as they have worked hard and are very deserving of this honor.  The unique part of the Shirley M. Rolf Memorial Scholarship is that it also offers smaller scholarships for young ladies attending one of the Occupational Health curriculums at the Whiteside Area Career Center (WACC).  Receiving these scholarships were Cassidy Corcoran, Abril Vasquez-Tapia and Chloe Landrus.  Congratulations to these young ladies as well as they start on a possible career path in the medical field.

Thank you to everyone that helps us to be successful!  We host four fundraisers annually and always have a great support base of parents, alumni, staff and retirees.  We have already had two very successful events, the Bowl-a-thon in February ($6,000) and the Wine and Cheese Gala in March ($7,700) and are about to kick off registration for the 22nd Annual Lyle Reuter Open Best Ball Golf Tournament on Friday, August 4th and the 9th Annual Depot Days Dash on Saturday, August 26th.  Watch the Amboy News and the AEF link on the school district’s website for more information.

New members are always welcome!  If you have any questions, please contact Mark Becker at (815) 857-2586.
