SAMS may be downloaded here. This download file is a Microsoft Windows 7/8/10 Installer (executable) and includes the SAMS software, required graphics libraries, Example files, a Users' Manual, and other documentation.
Source Code - SAMS source code may be downloaded here, subject to the license agreement. It will eventually be cleaned up and placed in a Github repository. In the meantime please contact us if you would like to help with testing and improving the software. A proprietary graphics library (SIGL) was used in development; unfortunately we cannot provide the source code for that library. The SAMS Installer was built using Inno Script Studio; build files can be obtained here.
Requirements are a Microsoft Windows 7/8/10 operating system, and administrative rights (or elevated privileges) are needed to install SAMS. This is due to the use of a graphics library (SIGL) that modifies the Windows registry to properly locate shared (dll) libraries.
Download the installer.
Run the executable and follow the screen prompts.
The SAMS 2010 users' manual is included in the SAMS installer package; the users' manual is also available here.
There are several example files included in the SAMS installer package. The examples consist of .sam files directly usable by SAMS (Colorado River, Niger Rive), Excel files to develop SAMS input files, and .dat streamflow files for various sites (Yakima River and Niger Rivers). Example files are also available here.
As the original basis for SAMS, Lane's Applied Stochastic Techniques (LAST) package and a monthly-to-daily streamflow dissagregation tool developed by Bill Lane (including source code, user manuals, and 32-bit Windows executables) are made available here for historical reasons.
